Dear Friends,

I know it is not even Halloween yet but I just saw a post on facebook yesterday saying...Only 9 Saturdays until Christmas! What??!!  Is that possible?!

I tend to procrastinate a bit on my Christmas shopping and then freak out which can really take away from the whole wonderful holiday feeling SO, this year I hope to do better.

In other news, I just added this video to my site. I hope you will take a moment(only a minute and a half long) to take a peek into my studio at what I do behind the scenes. Here is the final painting that I was working on in the video now available in my shop.

Since this is my last newsletter before Halloween and just in case you need more decorations...my sweet little witch is marked down in my Etsy shop...Regularly $25.00 but now $18.75.

Celebrating life this October, "Breast Cancer Awareness" month!

October is the month for "Breast Cancer Awareness" here in the United States and as some of you may or may not know, I am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in March 2009 and I am thrilled to say that I have been cancer free for over 4 years, hallelujah! When I got the news that the cancer was gone, I felt that I got a renewed sense of just how special this life is and I became more passionate than ever to try and live every day to the fullest! So needless to say, October is a VERY special month for me and my family. Plus I adore the fall weather in October and my daughter was also born in October. Happy birthday, my sweet daughter!

It's Cool To Build A School!

I did the cover art for this children's CD to raise money for the Moore Public School Foundation in Moore Oklahoma. The sales of this CD will help raise money for the things that the insurance doesn't cover in the wake of the devastating tornadoes that demolished the two elementary schools in Moore, Oklahoma in May, 2013.

As we begin to head into my favorite time of year with two of my favorite things, sunflowers and Monarch butterflies, I want to wish everyone a wonderful weekend!!

 

Goodbye Summer! Hello back to school!

Hello my lovely friends!

As summer winds down and we gear up for the back to school season I came up with some new art to help usher in the days that I used to dread and look forward to all at the same time. I definitely had mixed emotions as I loved being out of school to enjoy time off and I especially looked forward to sleeping in late!! At the same time, I was also eager to see my school mates again and get new schools supplies! There is still nothing quite like that smell of a brand new box of crayons!!

Here is my version of  I am not a morning person. These prints would make great wall art for young and old alike. Those little ones who wake up grumpy or for the older ones who have to get used to an 8 am class at college.

Honoring a little angel...

Many of you may or may not know that along with my art prints, I also create designs for Unity Stamping Company. Recently, I was given the wonderful opportunity to create a stamp design in honor of a little girl named Jocelyn who was bravely battling cancer. Sweet angel Jocelyn,  recently joined the other angels in heaven so this is in memory of Jocelyn. {partial proceeds will be donated to the Isaac Foundation in her honor} CLICK HERE to see the stamp kit, "Too Beautiful for Earth".
