The temperature is supposed to be down in the twenties tonight. Brrrr!
This cold weather made me think of the art I did last year for
Kate's Surprise, a Rookie Reader. Here's the cover and a couple inside pages. Kate's brother is stuck indoors because he's sick. Poor little guy can only dream of sledding while his sister Kate gets to go out and play in the snow. Kate tries to cheer him up with a surprise.
Beautiful job. :)

Really lovely stuff Phyllis! Do you work in gouache or acrylic? Thank you so much for the birthday wish!
ReplyDeleteMost of the work I have posted is in acrylics but I also work digitally as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment.
You sure did capture the feeling and atmosphere of a cold winter day Phyllis--I really love these! Scholastic was lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in Colorado for a while when I was small. . .we had chicken pocks and had to stay inside while all the neighborhood kids played in the snow!! I was sooooo bummed!
ReplyDeleteThe cover of your book is just adorable!
