Praying for rain and cooler weather...

I have never looked so forward to cooler weather in my life as I have over this past couple months. Missouri has had the hottest, driest summer since the 1950's, I believe. Triple digits for weeks and weeks with almost no rain.(except for a half inch in about two months or more) The ponds are drying up and the trees and grass are dying. I feel so badly for the poor wildlife. We've been keeping the birdbath full each day and they have become quite dependent on it.

I created this piece for a previous hot summer. Cool breezes, please come our way once more.

A dream come true for an illustrator of children's books

As many of you may know, I have been an illustrator of kid's books since 1999 but recently I was able to fulfill a dream of mine(well, actually, I never even dreamed of this one).

I was given the honor and privilege to illustrate the words of the late and amazing Margaret Wise Brown, the author of Goodnight Moon. Talk about a daunting task!! Whew! But after I got out of my own head and after lots of prayer, I just let go and let God guide my hand.

Without further adieu...I present On Christmas Day by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by me!

The popsicle man is coming!

Ding, Ding, Ding! The popsicle man is coming!!! Remember the excitement of that sound on a hot summer day?

Since we are having 100 degree temps  and the extended forecast shows no relief in sight... this piece came to mind. :)

I just added this print to my Etsy shop.
