I'm working on a sweet board book project at the moment. I can't give many more details until it comes out but I'll give you a peek. You will see a little color study above the painting that I did digitally. I find it really helps me to do that before just jumping into a painting. That way, I can work out all the color issues ahead of time.
Love it, Phyllis! I think your style is perfect for this project. I love seeing what other talented artists are working on. ; )
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kate! I am having fun with it.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great Phyllis to be able to do digital studies? I love doing little 2 x 3's cuz I can run through 3 or 4 options in an hour to come up with the best one.
ReplyDeleteOoohhhh, looks like fun ... so sweet!
ReplyDeleteYes, Stephen! Ever since I went back to traditional painting, doing the digital studies first has really helped.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly!
very sweet
ReplyDeleteJust love your style Phyllis. . .but of course that is not new. . . So wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteAw shucks, Sherry...you are so sweet! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh, lovely, Phyllis!! I can't wait to see more!
ReplyDelete- And digital color studies - what a great time saver!
Oh my gosh I've tried so many times to draw kids dancing and holding hands, and always hated the result. You're just too good Phyllis, this has so much movement. Wow I'm impressed, what a beauty of an illustration.
ReplyDeleteHi Phyllis, Your work is so enjoyable. I love playing around on the computer for color too. It is so much fun, especially layers and opacity. Anyway, your illustration is so sweet. Thanks for your advice earlier. Take care.
ReplyDeleteA lovely looking piece...fascinating to see it in production on your desk! (which I have to say looks extremely clean and orderly....unlike my own!)
