Second try...

Ok...here's another try on hot press with some other changes and a little colored pencil added. Better? Of course I do realize we artist's are never completely happy with any of our work...or at least I'm not. ;o)

Hey, even Maurice Sendak fears that his work is inadequate, so I'm not alone in my insecurity.

Hi Phyllis-- Sheesh, do I know how you feel! I think this one on hot press is great. The colors appear just that much sharper and cleaner.

Funny, I've been experimenting with hot and cold press too. I like the way paint handles on the cold, but like the outcome better on the hot. Though the painting seems to go through more awkward stages on the hot press-- not good for those internal critics!

Hhhmmmm....I do like this one better. Just seems to have more depth and interest.

There are really so many different ways to approach a painting. I prefer cold press myself....but now you have me wondering if I should try again. : )

Thanks Roz, Jennifer and Kate!

Regarding Hot press...I'm still not completely sold. I think I'm going to order some Fabriano Soft Press next to see what I think of it. I need something in between the hot and cold press.
