digital color study

Here is a digital water color study. I plan on painting it traditionally next. I find that when I paint without doing a color study first, I usually regret it.

Lovely, Phyllis! Interesting that you do a digital color "sketch." Makes a lot of sense! I never seem to have the time. Hope you are able to post the "traditional" version - I'll be interested to see.

Thanks Alicia! The spotted kitty is in memory of Domino, my mom's cat who disappeared a few weeks ago and never returned. We lived in a rural area where there are many coyotes. Domino was a 16 year old cat so she really did live a full life but we miss her.

Thanks Marion! I am going to try to post the traditional piece soon.

Oooo...Phyllis, I love the colors and softness and the characters are sweet. Love this new piece. Your illustrations are always so cheerful....even with a kite stuck in a tree.
