Snow, snow, snow

Well, the ground is still white after 2 weeks and that's rare for Missouri. I guess that's what I get for wishing for a white Christmas. Please don't hold that against me, friends...I sure didn't wish for negative digit temperatures! It's gonna get down to -10 degrees tonight...and that's actual temperature, not wind chill! Yikes!! BUT, the weather forecast next week is calling for some low 40's...I'll take it!

The book I'm working on at the moment is about the holidays and has a lot of snow in it so I'm actually able to get some good references right now. But unfortunately, I can't post any because of it not coming out until Fall 2010. So here is a picture out my studio window today. The shadows that look like waves are actually from the drifting snow and there is a lake behind the fence even though you can't see it because it's frozen and covered with snow as well.

Beautiful picture! Glad you're able to glean some inspiration from your current weather conditions for your next book! :-) My sis just moved to Missouri in August. She and her family drove across the U.S. to the Northwest for Christmas, and - thankfully - made it back safely. My sis that lives in Minnesota ... she and her family are still stuck in Washington and have yet to make it home via the train! Poor things! Stay warm!

Gosh, I miss those warm days in St. Charles. We are getting down to minus 25, in Iowa. It amazes me that the snow is sooooo beautiful here. It's different each time. Our last big snow, Wednesday-Thursday, it looked like someone had taken diamonds, smashed them into flakes and sprinkled them from the sky.

Hi, I love the waves in the snow. My hot water pipe froze in the kitchen yesterday. Snow is great for taking photos. Freezing temperatures are bad on nerves. I took photos of different animal prints in the snow. Tracing squirrel racing to different trees where their large nests were covered with snow.

Hi Phyllis! Hope you're having fun with your book. I can't wait till next week and we get the temps back into the 40's - it's actually supposed to reach 45 on Thursday and I can't wait! That's so sad isn't it? It's going to seem like summer in comparison lol.
