Magazine art

I recently did an illustration for Jack and Jill magazine, the Jan/Feb 2011 issue. They do a fun contest called Pen in Hand where they choose one of their young subscribers whose story was chosen to be illustrated and featured in their magazine. Here is Tiny Tom's Courageous Adventure.

Um...um.... GORGEOUS!!! Where do I begin: beautiful colors, love the soft city background, the composition leaps off the page, the characters are wonderful. This is definitely an eye-grabbing illustration. I feel sorry for other artists in the mag ;-) Upstaged!

This is great Phyllis. I am wondering what medium you used. It almost looks like watercolor collaged onto something else, or is it computer?

This is traditional watercolor that I scanned in and then added some highlights, white lines digitally in Painter.
