Fall Cannonball

Here is the piece I did for the kid's magazine Children's Playmate which is part of the Children's Better Health Institute group of magazines. Sadly, this is the last issue of the Children's Playmate because they are going to merge with their other magazine Jack and Jill Magazine starting January 2009. But in today's economy, I completely understand that businesses have to do what they can to survive. So go out and pick up a copy! It's kind of the end of an one era and the start of a new.

Very sweet! Love the colors. Her hair whipping back. Love the dog. (Brandy?)

Maybe Katharine needs a dog? Hmmm...

Really sweet Phyllis. I'll bet you had fun creating this illustration since you are a lover of autumn. I see your pooch lives on in the illustration. It's sad when magazines end....that happened with one of my faves once. I'll hacve to look for this...(I guess this being the last one makes it a special "collector's edition".) : )

Oh Phyllis that make me so sad to hear that about Children's Playmate!

This is such a wonderful illustration! You have definitely captured a moment we have all had.

I love that I just stumbled upon this post as I am working on updating my author blog and was hoping to link to this poem that I wrote for Jack and Jill years ago! Thank you for bringing my poem to life with your beautiful illustration! :)
